Spring is in the air, and that means it’s time to celebrate Pâques—Easter! In France, this holiday is full of charm, color, and sweet traditions that are perfect for sharing with young children. From chocolate delights to joyful egg hunts and crafts, Easter is a lovely opportunity to introduce a little French language and culture into your home or classroom.
Here’s how your family can enjoy Pâques en français—with play, learning, and lots of giggles!
Mini French Vocab Easter Egg Hunt
Turn your egg hunt into a simple, joyful French vocabulary adventure. Use plastic eggs or small paper “eggs,” and hide them indoors or in the garden. Place an image inside the plastic egg or stick it to the back of a paper egg. Use our Paques vocabulary printable here to get started. As your child finds each egg, help them say the French word out loud.
Use our Paques printable and match each found egg to its word.
Try a call-and-repeat game: You say “œuf!” and they shout it back!
Craft: Bunny Ears Headband
This fun and easy Easter craft from Little Day Out gets your little one speaking French and pretending to be a cheerful lapin!

You’ll need:
White cardstock to print the template
Scissors
Glue or tape
Crayons or markers
Stapler or tape for headband
Optional stickers for decoration
Steps:
Visit Little Day Out to download and print the template on cardstock.
Cut out two large bunny ears and the strip on the side for the headband.
Colour the inside of the bunny ears pink.
Let your child decorate the headband—add drawings, stickers, or even write “Joyeuses Pâques!”.
Attach the ears to the top of the headband, then tape or staple it into a circle to fit. Cut another strip if needed to fit around the head.
Encourage French while crafting:
Say “Voici les oreilles du lapin!” (Here are the bunny’s ears!)
Hop around saying “Je suis un lapin!” (I’m a bunny!)
Song: Mon petit lapin
One of our favourite songs in Les Petits Tigres French classes is Mon petit lapin and it's perfect for Easter. Babies and toddlers love playing peek-a-boo and saying coucou like le lapin!
